tranny slipping

I've read many of the other tranny slipping threads, but did not see any info that helped.
Here is my problem. My 02 silverado 4.3 v6 shifts fine. When Im driving at a stead 40 to 70 mph, the tranny will slip just enough to make the truck shake. It is a very quick shake. Just enough to make your head move forward a bit. Does not make any sound. It did this a few months ago so I had the fluid serviced. That stopped it until today. My fluid level is ok. Could it be the filter? or maybe the torq converter? Please help. Thanks

Re: tranny slipping

From what you are describing, it sounds like the converter clutch is slipping. Make sure though that its not a drivability issue with the engine. I have seen way too many times people blaming the transmission and paying mega $$ to replace/rebuild the transmission when the problem wasn't in the transmission at all. Can anyone say "DOH" A trans shop can verify TCC slippage with a scanner. I would have it checked.

what does that mean? serviced is a very scary desciption,,,when talking about transmissions...

droping the pan, cleaning pan , replacing the filter, using the correct new dexronVI fluid...is what is proper...If you got the quick flush and run job ,,good chance the torque converter is messed up, as well as other damage..
