locking wheel lug nuts

Hello. I was thinking of purchasing a set of locking wheel lug nuts (4 total). Would having four originally lug nuts and one after market locking lug nut on one wheel affect wheel balance. I did some googling online and a few sources say that a weight difference of 1.5 oz in lug nut weight can affect wheel balance? Would someone with more knowledge be willing to share their thoughts?

Thanks

Re: locking wheel lug nuts

Have you checked on priced for them yet?

I have a set of 4 brand new locking lug nuts somewhere around here I'll sell you for 15.00 shipped. They are brand new in the package, but the package is opened.

I purchased them to use on a new set of rims I ordered. The rims ended up not fitting, so I never used the lug nuts.

If you are interested I will dig them out and snap you a picture. Let me know.....

Re: locking wheel lug nuts

tblake,

Can you tell me if those are GM locking wheel nuts? I am particularly interested in those because I still want to be able to cover the nuts with my chrome plastic covers.

Thanks.

Ahhh, I'll have to look, I'm not sure they have threads for the covers. But I will check, its been so long.

Do you live in north Minneapolis?
