4dr sedan exhaust
Wassup,
Is there a bolt on rear section (muffler) made for 91 4dr civic? I found one made by toucan and another and obx performance racing, but they said they wouldn not fit my car . they had one for the crx and one for the hb,but no luv for the 4dr. http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/honcivcrxrea.htmlstreetbeatcustoms had a few but according to the guy i talked to he said he does not think any would fit my 4dr. can anyone help, or will I have to just do a custom exhaust? like possibly ordering one from streetbeat and modifiying it to my car? Thanks |

I've run into the same problem. It seems that the extra foot of length on the 4dr makes doing an exhaust hard. Exhaust systems and rear bumpers need to be specially made/installed it seems.

Just get a muffler and go to a shop that does exhasut work and have them bend you exhaust, it will be much cheaper than buying a system.

I got my Bosal/Brospeed exhaust from nopionline.com for like $350 shipped i think.....you can also get a thermal R&D for like $500....supposedly that is the best brand available for a 4 door.

I got a import flowmaster & 2.5 in. piping cat back on my sedan. Great, unique sound. I really like it!

Yo...another Marylander...and a 4-door owner
I went to a local shop and had them install a 2.25" pipe from the catalytic converter back, with a turbo muffler for $260 - for $395 you can buy a Thermal R&D Stainless 2.25" catback made for the 4-door - I didn't quite have the $$ at the time so I went the local/cheaper route since I had no exhaust on my car. I had them leave the resonator off, and I like the way it sounds, and it should last a few years 'til I get the stainless when I am rich ![]() here is the link to the cheapest place I have found a Thermal muffler system.. http://www.cnw.com/~redline/Thermal.htm Where are you in MD? I am in the Southern part..about 45 mins. south of Waldorf. Welcome to the board.

yeah, i'll probally do the 2 1/4 from the cat back and just add a muffler. im located pretty much in the middle of b-more and dc. i'll check speed unlimited and a few other places i have in mind, right now my ride is 100% stock but i have 17" s on order and an obx intake on my 88 that i will switch to the 91 and this exhaust should go into play in the next 2-3 weeks if everything goes right and i'll ride that until i get more money to play with, iight gotta go to class. thanks for all the advice.

Gotcha..that pretty much sounds like Laurel/Columbia area.. I don't know it very well, but had some friends up that way way back when, and have been to a few seminars and shit up there.
Good Luck and let us know what you end up with - L8!

They do make a direct bolt-on, no mod muffler for our 4 drs. I asked this same question b4....
here's my old post and thread, check it out....i have this on my car now and it sounds great....its really deep without that ricey weedwacker sound.....but I also have a gutted cat with 2.25 piping. I highly recommend it..... another way to do the exhaust on our 4 doors is to hack of the old muffler where it starts on the right and comes out on the left...then just reweld it on the right side so it is coming straight back and throw on a really nice tip... one last type is to do like I said b4 but instead of rewelding the old muffler back onto the right side of the car....weld on a new muffler of your choice....apex, hks, whatever u want. but make sure you get some 2.25 piping....it really makes a difference... peace
