Cool intercoolers

What up yall? I'm new to this web site and was just looking for an intercooler to custom fab on my 4.3L supercharged Xtreme. The whole intake is pretty much fabricated and i still plan on moving some things around and cramming an intercooler in. Looking for a 3 1/2in inlet/oulet air to air intercooler (price depending!) I really want to have an air-water intercooler made for my engine but that could be pretty expensive. Any help would be appreciated. :bandit:

wild idea for ya...

jackson racing has a water to air ic kit for the miata that is fairly compact, nice looking, and a complete kit...

you might be surprised by it...

what kind of s/c do you have on there?

keep in mind that you don't need a huge cooler either...

Cool supercharger

It is a shitty Powerdyne supercharger. Designed at sea level and i'm living in Colorado right now so I'm losing 1/4 of my boost. Should be running 11lbs only running 7. Procharger has a bad ass supercharger/intercooler combo but they don't have the prices listed and i'm sure they're pretty expensive would rather buy a used one and custom fab somethin'

yeah, i caught sight of it when i was looking at the jackson racing catalog here at work...

i plan to use it whenever i actually turbo my car...

what's the noise level like on your s/c?

i know they're belt driven internally, so it should be pretty quiet...

7psi on a stock motor is more than enough..
11psi would be a bit much...

and correct me if i'm wrong, but you shouldn't lose boost pressure at higher altitude... i know that it's thinner air, but you should still make the same boost, no?

Look into an ATI Twin IC setup. Don't know how much space you have in there but they're compact and will most definitely get the job done for any amount of boost you could possibly want to run. Also, your supercharger should make the same boost there as it would at sea level. Your wastegate would keep the boost on until it reads 11 lbs of pressure in the intake, correct? Meaning that the SC would keep boosting until it reached that point. Granted by that time it may be pushing hotter air, but you should still see 11 lbs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong??

that was my question exactly...

i've not seen a pulley for that s/c to make more than 7lbs. of boost... at least not from powerdyne.
