VW T1 Delivery Van ''Hoodride''

This is my completed model for a vw build on SPC. I wanted a rusty ''Hoodride" model and this is what I made.

Yesterday I took some pics outside and inside.

I really love it, and I think it's my best model in my cabinet for the moment The kit builds itself, so nice are these kits. You can do anything you want with these vans, so every model is unique. Some of you know my VW T3 Transporter. That was a test with rust for this model. I think this rust and van looks way better than that model

Here's a short list with accesoires I used and modifications I did.

- Modern Options Instant Rust
- Custom made roofrack
- Custom made swampcooler
- ScaleProduction licenseplates
- Custom made safariwindow
- Custom made decals
- Aluminium exhaust
- Shortened frontaxles
- '66 Beetle rearlights
- Maximum lowered
- Custom made whitewalls
- Rusty '66 Beetle parts in and outside the car
- Custom made wooden floor
- Scaleproduction magazine and newspaper
- PE speedtacho
- PE radioface
- Studio27 Interior Upholstery decal

Thanks for watching and to the others: Keep it up guys!

Kris.

Impressive weathering you're showing here.
Looks very convincing and real. The rust is really perfectly captured.
Almost a shame to beat a kit up like this, but what a great result it is!

Hope to see this one next week in Nieuwegein. Must look really killer up close.

Than you're lucky, cause I take it with me for the contest at Nieuwegein

Thanks for the compliments!

Re: VW T1 Delivery Van ''Hoodride''

In Dutch: Zeeeeeer knap gedaan Iceracer,
En hele goede foto's.
Weer eens wat anders dan al die glimmende modellen hè!
Supermooi model man.

In English:
Very good work Iceracer,
And very good pictures too.
That's a bit different than all those shiny cars!
SUPERB model!!!

In English:
The next time you can bring on the different rust powders first.
Mask them with maskingfluid, then spray the car in your favorite color.
Then peel of the maskingfluid (it's gum in the meantime).
You have rustspots that come from underneath the bodypaint, just like real rustspots.

Re: VW T1 Delivery Van ''Hoodride''

There's something about this that really appeals - I like it a lot. All it needs now is a horde of marauding zombies in the background! The photos are excellent too.

The weathering and beat-up nature of this one just adds so much character and back-story, something that 'showroom-fresh' models don't always have.

Nice one!
