Unhappy Help: Power Windows won't go up (sometimes)

I have a 1993 325i

My main problem is with my right rear window. It will go down just fine but only goes up when it wants to. Usually I can get it up after driving around for a while if I keep playing with the switch but sometimes it gets stuck for a day or more. Like today, when it just had to be raining.

Occasionally all of the windows stop working completely, meaning I turn on the car and none of them will go down. This usually goes away after a few minutes.

The front passanger and left rear window also get stuck in the down position but vary rarely.

I looked for the fuse under the hood but there is only a fuse for the drivers side window. I tested it by pulling it out and sure enough, all of the windows worked except the drivers side.

I've also played with the windows security button on the dash behind the ignition.

I saw a post talking about a blue box above the peddles but did not see it on my car. Anyone know anything about that?

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,
James

same thing happened to me. the problem is the switch. just replace it. if you were low on cash like i was when mine went out, use your fingers to pull the switch piece out and swap the front one with the back one to roll the window up then put everything back it normal. takes about a minute to do.
