I don't think Freon is legal any more. My 1989 Si uses 1.98 pounds of R-12.

you can buy small amounts of freon for personal use, but its expensive cause its illegal to manufacture so whats left on earth is whats left to buy. not illegal to sell, but you do have to be certified to get it in large quantities. you could go to honda and get it, but its mega expensive. just convert, or if you know someone with hookups, talk to them. im saving cans of it at work so i can recharge my civic after i finish rebuilding the car.

I happen to have 2 cans of freon in my garage. I'm going to go to a car show this summer and just make it known that i have freon and and see what kind of offers i get on it.

Yeah I've got one can of freon in my garage too, from the last LX I owned. I now have the Si and the folks converted it to the R-12. From what I've been told it's only like 30-40 bucks to convert so it's much cheaper and less hassle in the long run.
