Finished the 171/174 fix, now idle problem?
Hubby did the repair this past Saturday, and van has driven much better. Shuddering way less to none at all now. He said the EGR ports were real clogged, at least a couple were. They did not replace the valve cover that came with the kit, something about if it had the hole already it didn't need replacing, or something to that effect.
Today, I was idling at a stop sign and all the sudden the van starting "jumping" a bit under the hood area and the RPM's were going up and down. What in the world might cause this? Any help is appreciated, as we are supposed to be heading to Arkansas tomorrow and can't afford to break down! Thanks, PB |

Re: Finished the 171/174 fix, now idle problem?
First make sure no vacuum hoses have come undone! A good culprit is the vacuum hose for the fuel pressure regulator. It's right in the center of the upper intake, above the front valve cover and looks like an upside down "U" I have mine secured with ties and haven't had any idle issues ever since.
