Not Lincoln relevant, but I think it makes the point.

Talking Re: Wow

I put new Firestone air springs in my Town Car a few weeks ago

The OEM's lasted 70k miles

Now I need a new headliner.. should I do it with the $70 kit, or have it done by a shop?

Re: Wow

Last head liner I had done at a shop cost me 200 about 6 or 7 years ago. My tc headliner is starting to come down right at the rear window edge. I would like to find some brush on adhesive. That spray stuff is just too messy for something like that. My old caddy has the liner hanging low enough to touch my head. I was thinking custom fake fur for that one.

Re: Wow

Steve, I did mine, I have to drop the pillar panels and take the headliner out of the car, remove it, and the foam, and re glue it and put it back together again. It took me an entire weekend. As good of shap that your car is in. I would just go ahead and pay for the shop to do it. They have all the tools they need and experience.

That's where they ALL start falling.. I'm going to add 2" of BLACK tint to the rear window up there.

Re: Wow

That was the second biggest problem. When I was prying down on it, I heard pops and things. The hardest thing on the whole project was getting the dam thing in and out. All the seats have to be down, and I could only get it out on the passenger side, bc of the steering wheel. I used a sealant called GS5-2014 AB Aircraft Sealant to put it back up with. I got it a Piper when I worked there back in 05. Yours has the visors in the back so I bet it would be a little harder as well....

Re: Wow

I have yanked a few head liners down in my Town Cars. That adhesive is some strong stuff. It's like construction adhesive or liquid nail. That popping noise is the glue breaking away from the sheet metal. Careful you don't oil can the roof, If it's the plain roof like my 94. My old 91 Cartier had that fake black convertible top. Which tops do you guys have ?

I was thinking some 3 inch thick navy blue fur for the headliner on the Caddy.

Some extra cushion when you hit big bumps

Re: Wow

Headliner will look sweet, good cushion right. I like the feal of fur on my bald head. Bring on the bumps. Plain smooth top on lincoln, caddy, and me. No one will be able to see me pimping through the dark glass.

That's not a bad price for a good job... is it 100% perfect.. no rattles, all edges tucked nicely?

I'm worried they'll mess something up like the side posts etc.. or leave the wires up there loose to rattle around.. I hate rattles.
