change oil light wont go off

how do you reset the change oil light on a 2002 trail blaizer

Per the owner's manual, key on engine not running, step on the gas pedal to the floor 3x in 5 seconds to reset.

my 02 tb would reset if i put the dic feature to oil life % and hold the button on the steering wheel right side lower button for 30 sec.

Correct, but not every TB has a DIC.

First, make sure the floormat isn't bunched up under the pedal. Also, I've found it to not respond if you cycle it too quickly. You have to press it firmly to the floor with a split second hold before repeating it. Then cycle the key off/on and start to check the light. Hope this helps!
