Re: throttle sticking
I've seen faulty cruise control increase speed on hill and straight away. Did you take the throttle linkage loose from the carb, does the carb linkage work ok. Check throttle cable. I have an 88 out front, different model, waiting on new throttle cable. I can't get it inside to work on it, rainy weather has me slowed down. Maybe it needs a carb kit?

these vacuum operated choke components get damaged from age and being exposed to carb cleaner...inside all those choke/carb vacuum operated devices are rubber diaphrams,,,if they have a small hole you will get what you have now... also careful lubing and cleaning of the choke/carb linkages are required.. removal of the throttle linkage from the carb and test for ease of movement just in case the cable is binding....this is possible on theser very old vehicles in a salty damp environment.... used to live in fallriver/newport,,,very damp... |
