Exclamation Tire size HELP!

So I checked out Craigslist this morning and some guy was selling 5 star Pontiac wheels. So I called and asked to see a picture. They were 18inch G6 wheels! I posted a thread a few months back asking if the size was compatible. I was told yes. So I bought them....for $200........total......with Goodyear tires on them!!! HOWEVER, when I tried to put them on my 97 GTP they won't fit. WHAT GIVES???

Re: Tire size HELP!

Why wont they fit? Is the bolt pattern wrong? (I think its different), Do they hit the calipers? (wrong offsets?), or is the wheel too big? and simply buying a smaller aspect ratio tire will fit?

Re: Tire size HELP!

The bolt pattern isn't the same. I think the bolt pattern on these wheels are 5x110mm. I haven't seen this size before. I can't find wheel adapters for this size to convert 5x114.3 to 5x110. Any suggestions guys?

Re: Tire size HELP!

Yeah, I was actully looking at a set of chrome 5 spoke G6 wheels for the GP, but found out the bolt patterns were different, so I passed. The chrome G6's I think might have looked really nice.

Only option might be to just sell them. Do you think these so called adapters would be safe to drive on? I don't think anyone on af should advise the use of them due to safety reasons.

If you have your heart set on them, you could look into the hubs to see if the G6 ones will bolt to the GP spindles. (doubtfull, but possible).

By the way, the bolt pattern on GP's isnt 5x114.3, its 5x115 just to clarify.

Re: Tire size HELP!

Tim the 5 X 114.3 will work. These are the Ford Mustang rim bolt pattern and many GP owners have used them with no issues.

Re: Tire size HELP!

Ahhhh, yeah I thought I read that somewhere.

I just didnt want someone doing a google search to come here and think the stock bolt pattern was 114.3x5.
