Auto to Manual questions.

I just bought a 99 civic hb and I went ahead and bought it even though it is an automatic. I've been asking a friend who knows some people that own a couple shops and they quoted me $1300 total to have my auto switched over to a manual.
Before anybody says buy a manual, I bought this car because it was the exact body style, color, year and mileage that I was looking for and I am not going to sell it.

My questions are these:
#1 Does $1300 sound like a decent price to have this done?
#2 If not what should I be paying to have this done?

I would check the integrety of the shop, I have herd of anyone coverting for less than 3,000. Ask to see if they have done it for anyone else before.

Anybody know of a place besides ebay for me to pick up a center console out of a 5 speed?

well 1300 sounds good. My friend was going to have that done and the shop was only going to charge 1200 for the swap, 800 for parts and 400 for labor. Instead he blew the money on a WW bigmouth knockoff front and a cheap ass Maaco paint job

Yeah it's starting to look like I will have to go that route. All my responses from ebay dealers are coming up empty.

a buddy of mine had an auto to manual swap done on his '93 teg and it ran him $1400 at a shop in so. cal. as far as i know this included all parts including tranny, linkage, etc. as well as all oem interior parts. i've seen it since the work, and i cant even tell it was ever an auto. i forgot to check his gauge cluster tho, to see if that was swapped too.

my friend had it done for 800cdn but thats cause he also had the engine swapped at the same time.

Thanks for the replies. I can't wait to get this swap done. I just can't get used to driving an automatic I hate it. It feels weird not being able to shift. Argggggggggggghhhhhhhhh.
