My first post - Late 60's Gas Dragster

Hello everyone! My name is Charlie Saglinbene (AKA Pro Tech) and this is my first post of one of my builds. I already know a number of builders on here already and am looking forward to meeting more of you! I started this build with the "Ramchargers" F/E dragster kit. I wanted to build it into a gas dragster so here's what I did. I re-worked the body (rear section) and seat, added push bar and made new chute mount. Added to the engine was injector stacks, scratchbuilt harmonic balancer (with timing marks), re-worked fuel pump, added oil pressure gauge, re-worked oil filter mounting. Fuel cell was scratchbuilt and plumbed. On the front end I scratchbuilt the radius rods/heim joints with aluminum tube and hex fittings. The front wire wheels (spokes) were scraped from the backside with an x-acto blade to thin them out to make them more scale correct. To top it all off I added machined aluminum valve stems to the the wheels. Thanks for looking and look forward to posting more in the future!

Superb!

I also really like the subtle weathering

BTW did I miss what scale this is in?

Cool looking build. Love the Racemaster slicks. Really dates the car to back to the 60's. Nice engine work, too!

very nicely done--I especially like the "just-right" weathering on the valve covers.

Oh god. Now it's the GURU that supplies the guru's that use his products posting on here. There is really little hope for us mortals.

Looks fantastic. Looking forward to the finshed car.
