HI,
I have an 88 buick park ave. and it just dies driving down the road but will start right back up again, a friend of mine said it was the fuel pump. any thoughts from anyone on this problem also could someone please tell me the location of the fuel pump on this car.
COULD it be the fuel filter?.
ANY information would help.

well, it could be a few things:

Dirty fuel filter
faulty fuel pump
worn spark plugs/wires
dirty fuel injectors
dirty air filter(Im taliking real dirty)
faulty coil

I would check all of those if I were you, starting with the simple things, such as the air filter, a bottle of fuel injector cleaner and so on, until you find the root of the problem.
