Smile Delta 88 Turn Signal Problem

83 Delta 88 307 4 dr: Signal worked fine for probly 10 years or so. Left side quit, right side is fine. Found a bad bulb in the left rear light. Now it sometimes doesn't blink or is very slow, every 3 seconds or so. Signal light in dash lights up. I'm thinking a bad ground, the connection in the tailight seemed okay, no corrosion. Any suggestions?

Check the socket grounds, make up a jumper to ground it seperately see what happens. or check it with an ohmeter.

Thanks maxwedge, can you help me locate the grounds? I'm guessing they are in the trunk area?

Probably up behind the bumper, but if is bad just make up a new one at the best location for you.

Re: Delta 88 Turn Signal Problem

Checked front and back sockets. Both lights light up. I jumpered the shell of the bulb to a ground, does not flash. Right side is fine. The column switch is the problem I'm guessing. It has turn signal, wiper and cruise control. Before I disassemble I'd like to know how it comes apart. I replaced the steering wheel so I've had that off. Any pics or procedures would be helpful. Also I may have to go used, what other models will fit? I'm thinking maybe later model Cutlass or such may fit. Not many 83's around anymore.
