Rare that we get advanced notice like this. Hopefully someone on that side of the world can make it down there for us.

If not, I am sure pics will be floating around on various car forum sites

Of course, if AF.com wish to give me 1st class seats and 5 star accomodation, I'll happily cover it for us

I'd go economy class and sleep at a Motel 6.

Silver F1s need the high mirrors in my opinion.
Anyone else agree?
(In the wrong continent for this one )

F1 was in the showroom roped off so most of the pics will look like the ones I found here:

Additional pics here:

If you pay close attention, you'll notice this car has a 'McLaren F1' decal on the rocker panel ahead of the rear wheels like chassis #003. There were a couple of camera phone shots I posted a while back in that area that had us wondering which car it was.

In this set you'll see they opened it up for some people:

I asked karc to try and get us a better shot of the chassis plate and perhaps the VIN plate in the engine compartment. Haven't seen him post his pics anywhere yet.

One more Flickr set:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/2544308...7622434559155/

Click this picture to see the hires version of this image:

Look closely in the area below the door hinge by the fender, just below the cable housing that comes out at the base of the a-pillar. There appears to be a small plaque mounted there that I don't recall seeing on any other F1s. I was thinking it is a remnant of the 'Ameritech F1' conversion - maybe an Amerispec VIN plate perhaps? I first spotted it in image from one of the other sets, but haven't been able to find any shots that give a better view of it yet besides this one. I looked for evidence of a similar plaque on shots of #045, #055, #062 and #067 I had showing that area and don't see one, so my Ameritech theory is probably wrong.

Anyone else seen something like that there before?

"give me another 10 mins. and they'll all be up. The F1 is Herb's and he is not selling it. Supposeddly, Jay Leno came out for a ride and to look at the car and wanted to buy it from him but he refused."

It's odd that the plaque Eriik refers to is on the top of the hinge housing - It looks like it should foul somewhere when the door closes.

The writer is right, the new S4 is a great car. And the little silver car's not bad either. But seriously, many thanks for the link!
