Wheel noises...?

Hey all, I seem to have the Grand Prix from hell on my hands...here's what all is wrong...

Lately, there's been a really annoying noise coming from my front wheels, at first, I'd only hear it while braking, so we checked the brakes and the pads/rotors had gotten warped (got them replaced about a month ago)

That fixed the noise for a while, now, it seems like the noise is back (at any speed). Its really noticeable, sounds like there's something wrong with the tires, but they check out fine as far as 'lack of abnormalities' goes.

Now, the main thing that I dont understand is that the noise keeps changing/adding to itself. Yesterday, I was going through the McD's drive-thru, and when I rolled my window down, there was an odd 'scratching/whining' noise. I know I'm not going crazy cuz my brother heard it too, and it was really loud!

I honestly don't know what the problem could be, I thought maybe there was a problem with the frame (it had been in an accident before I got it, drivers side).

Any help will be greatly appreciated, I'm really tempted to start looking for another car (bout the 10th thing I've had to fix in the past 18 months), even though I love GP's to the core!

Thanks in advance!

Re: Wheel noises...?

This sounds like you have a wheel bearing issue. Usually they go in pairs so change both front bearings. If it continues to increase in volume don't drive it too far until they are changed as you may find yourself sitting along the highway.

Re: Wheel noises...?

i would probably check the calipers to make sure you dont have a stuck caliper. if not, then i would suspect a wheel bearing also.

All 4 wheel bearing have been replaced within 6 weeks, and the calipers/pads/rotors all got replaced about 4 weeks ago...

Went for a drive tonight, was goin REAL slow in a parking lot with the window down and could hear the driver's side rear brake makin a 'scratching/tightening' noise, dunno what that could be lol

Its goin to the shop tomorrow morn to let them hear the racket its makin

Thanx for the brainstorming, anything else would be appreciated

have you checked the parking brake? sounds like it might be stuck. after a long time with salt it causes the cable to rust. thats the only other thing i can think would come from the rear

Re: Wheel noises...?

I agree with the parking brake being stuck given the fact that the noise is coming from the rear of the car.
