the fuel pump gets damaged when fuel is below 1/4 level...check your fuel pressure need 60psi...also if it drops rapidly on shut down your pump is in need of replacement in most cases..

j cat is right, also that low in the tank your pump is gonna start sucking up dirt particles and junk like that from the bottom of the tank.

Thumbs up Re: Runs rough below 1/4 tank...help!!!!!

Thanks alot for the quick reply. I will try to hook up a fuel pressure gauge sometime this week. Is it a pain to change out the pump on these?

Re: Runs rough below 1/4 tank...help!!!!!

they aren't too hard to change, depending on how much fuel you got in the tank if you have to change out your pump. It could be easier to take the 8 bed bolts loose, filler neck, and some other wires then just set your bed back about 2 foot. but its its almost empty just drop your tank. MAKE SURE you replace the small piece of rubber hose that helps hold your pump in, i think its called the pulsator or something like that.
