Will anything be able to beat the new Bugatti Veyron?
I cant wait till pebble beach in august, so I can see this car unveiled. 987 hp all wheel drive 8.0 quad turbo W-16 with 922 pound feet of tourqe, said to be able to hit 186 mph in 14 seconds, and tops out at 252 mph. This car is said to cost 1 million dollars, guess you get what you pay for.

Who cares? I wouldnt buy that car if I had oodles of money and I wouldnt keep it if I had it...I'd sell it right after I got it...and buy myself a much more practical car w/the money...preferably a fast turbo car...hehe...like F40 or R32 GT-R

The MTM Bimoto, aka. twin-engined 800bhp AWD Audi TT would give it a race.

Well, 1 SAE (american) hp is I think 550 lb/ft/min, and 1 DIN hp (european) is either 547 or 543 lb/ft/min. Unless my memory is totally shot.
But thats why the difference is there. As for being unbeatable, nothing is unbeatable. I am mainly concerned with the car being too luxurious (And hence heavy, with a too soft suspension). If they do make it focused enough, I believe that it has the potential to be the best production car of all time. I wish I could be there for its debut, but, Ill have to watch it on speedvision. |

I too will be watching it on Speed Channel or something like that. The pictures of it from Geneva were just breath-taking. It has such an original look, and the two-tone paint job is so cool. I would love to drive this thing, but like someone said, I really wouldn't want to own it and for how much money it costs, I would rather have several lower priced exotics.

On the subject of the Veryon, have any of you gotten the May issue of Road&Track yet, morons in the magazines. On the front they say that the Bugatti is powered by a V-12, and they also must not know bout the change in power, oh well. also, the 16-4 part of it, they say the 4 is for the 4 wheel drive, not saying it is wrong but i thought it meant 4 turbochargers?
it also says anywhere from 50 - 100 will be built, i want more!!

For being quad turbocharged and dual intercooled I am quite dissapointed in the Veyron. It is a waste of money in my opinion. There are a plethra of cars that could mop the floor with this car.

I second that opinion. It has 1000bhp but by no indication is it a great car - until proven otherwise
