Typical maintenance depends on the mileage and prior service records. How many miles on the car & does it have any service records included with the sale?

Check for what may feel like an out of balance tire...

Pay attention to the trans and how it shifts... The shifts should be smooth, they should not be abrupt of clunky...

also check for AC compressor groans... Just check and make sure all of the accessories function as they should..

Check for burned out lamps (the lights behind the text on the buttons) in the various controls. Not a big issue if you do not mind not seeing what they are at night, and could be used as a negotiating point. Often the first to go are in the steering wheel controls, then the radio, heater, etc.
