My daughter runs a post route in her Taurus and has recently had a few issues. One that has me scratching my head is the windows. Her power windows just stopped working, all 4! I have rotated all the relays I can find under the dash and hood, checked all the fuses under the dash and hood, and changed the driver's upper switch box. Still none of the windows will work. The owners manual does not show a fuse or relay under the dash or hood that I see for the windows. Her inside ceiling lights have quit at the same time. Can anyone give me a place to look for this?????

Re: 2004 Ford Taurus
The first thing I would do is check for power at the light blue with black wire on the driver master window switch. If there is power there than all the fuses/relays/circuit breakers are working.
If there is no power there than there could be an issue with fuse #30, Relay #1, Relay #2 or Circuit breaker #10 in the interior fuse panel. There is also a possibilty that there is a broken wire in the driver front door harness between the door and the a pillar.

Re: 2004 Ford Taurus
Definetely thanks.
It was the circuit Breaker. Luckily I had one in the garage. Now on to fixing the AC clutch. At least thats manual and not electric. I don't like the electrical portions of cars. Give me a valve, water pump, or brakes any day. |
