Has anyone experience their tach needle not moving smooth, mine jerks from 1000 to 2000 and then it seems to smooth out everywhere else

Try an instrument cluster self test/calibration. Turn the ignition to on then press the odometer trip knobs. Withing seconds the dials should cycle. If the problem continues you likely have a bad instrument and you'll have to change the instrument cluster.
