Unusual start for 98 leSabre
When I start the car at some temperatures in the morning the car has been cranking for over a second before it catches and there's a heavy sound to the firing for half a second after it does catch like it's running rich and the starter is still cranking rather than the motor firing well on its own.
At colder temps it starts fine (so far it's been down to 60s and 55 in mornings). It catches almost immediately. All starts later through the day don't have that after effect of flooded plugs as the motor starts, unless it has set for hours and motor is cold again. My first guess is the FPR. I just realized this cries out for a recording of the sound I am talking about. I'll try to get that one of these mornings. Last edited by imidazol97; 10-01-2009 at 09:59 PM. |

Basics, look for fuel in the hose at the fp regulator for starters. ( you knew that)

I even tried doing a cold start and turning it off immediately then checking the FPR line for fuel. Smell of gas but never any drops. |
