04 Taurus Airbag Light - Cd Player Bypass

So i have an 04 taurus with a tape deck. I swapped out the cd changer for an aux input for an ipod...works perfect.

I went to the junk yard and got a cd deck installed it and then realized it triggered a 1-8 airbag light code. Apparently the cd deck came from an 02 Taurus SES, and the cd deck doesn't have the airbag light by the climate controls. Ive heard of a bypass i could do, but...

A: is it safe to do... im not an idiot i can do basic car electronics speakers decks etc...

B:would it be better (keeping the car stock instead of modding it..etc) and safer ...to possibly just find a cd player from an 04-05...06? taurus and swap that in

here is the mod...its originally for using an aftermarket kit but is the same point. it involves using a 10k resistor and two vampire taps, to link, i guess the red/yellow wire and the brown/blue wires to bypass the light from going off
