MAF sensor prob

I have a 1996 nissan hardbody 2x4 4 cylinder, It started flooding and bucking when I would give it gas. I had the codes checked. It gave a MAF sensor malfunction. I replaced with a new sensor, it made no difference it act the same as it did before. Before changing the sensor i put new plugs, wires and rotor button on it and had it timed at a local garage. Im going nuts Any ideas?

Re: MAF sensor prob

does it have spark?

if not try the coil

check the fuel pressure

your maf sensor code can come on from engine flooding.

have you started it for a long time and let the gas just sit there?

sounds like a problem Ive seen come up with newer sentras

however clean that whole maf thing get the carbon out as well

ya car will start with no maf sensor at all so that wasnt likely your problem

Re: MAF sensor prob

Its getting plenty of spark from the coil. I may try and return the maf sensor perhaps I got a dud. Actually it seems I am starving for gas rather than flooding. It will build RPM's until a certain point(no tach) then just drift back to idle even if i hold the gas pedal to the floor.
thanks
Eric
