NASA VIR Oktoberfest - 10th & 11th

Anyone else going to be there? I'll be running TTS on some fresh R6s and my father will be running HPDE3. It will be our last event of the 2009 season.

Brian, how did the run off thing that you were going to do in the car pan out?

Kel.

Re: NASA VIR Oktoberfest - 10th & 11th

? Are you referring to the Ultimate Track Car Challenge I was picked for? If so, I wasn't able to do that becuase the event prior to it was the one where we had so many problems. As a result I wan't able to get any seat time in the car to get a feel for the entire new setup. The UTCC was a time trial format and I didn't want to to out and have to go 100% in a car I didn't know... I had no idea how the car would handle.

Plus, to run timetrials w/ NASA you have to get signed off. I was supposed to have gotten my TT license the event before, but of course that was a botched event. Instead of runing the UTCC that Friday I ended up runing the advanced HPDE group on Saturday an got my TT sign-off and did timetrials on Sunday.

This next event I will be running the car in TT-S on some fresh Hoosier R6s. It'll be interesting to see if I can get under 2:09 w/ new tires.

Brian,
How did you do in the TT-S on Sunday? What was the field like? If I were to do NASA racing I am thinking about TT-S as well.

Yes that was the event I was thinking of. Yeah, not so easy to stick to the plan when the car plays up. Let us know how you go with the new tyres.

I loved it... I finished 4th out of 10 or 11 in TTS. I ran a 2:10:xx on old tires. Will be running TTS next weekend on fresh R6s. We'll see what happens.

With some more seat time the car will be very competitive. Car needs to run 2:07s to compete in NASA ST2 on VIR Full.
