2006 silvy ac on driver side gets hot????

My Dads 06 chevy has dual climate control (the ones you just slide up and down) and if you have the ac running, ONLY the driver side will quit cooling and start heating. He can put the truck in neutral, shut the engine off and restart while going down the road and it will cool for about five minutes and then go straight to heat. Any suggestions?????????? thanks Mike

Re: 2006 silvy ac on driver side gets hot????

The climate control has two seperate electric blend doors for heat and cold, sounds like the motor on the drivers side is screwed up. If you have any access to a gm specific code scanner you can see what codes are on the hvac system, likely it the drivers side blend door motor.

By turning it off and back on the hvac system goes through a self calibration routine each time its power is cycled, so that is common for it to work a little at first.

By the way, what was wrong with your truck?
