everytime you park the car on an angle and you go to push the clutch in, the clutch fork doesnt move forward but the clutch cable is new and is not broken. but in order to get the clutch to go you have to get under the car and push it forward with a pry bar while you have some one pushing the clutch pedal. any ideas?

Re: 86 gt having clutch fork problems
Look at the firewall where the cable is attached. I've found these cracked and the area has to be reinforced.

Re: 86 gt having clutch fork problems
Or, the pivot ball tabs on the clutch fork are completely worn out and are not staying on the pivot ball. Something mechanical is definitely wrong. Unfortunately, unless it is the clutch cable in some manner, you are stuck with removing the tranny and see what is going on with the clutch fork/TOB and pivot ball.
Good luck.... |

Re: 86 gt having clutch fork problems
Most likely its the clutch fork or the pivot ball is worn out. I have broken cables before just from a worn out pivot ball
