Fujimi MR2 Question

Hi guys
I need a little help
I'm slowly working on the Fujimi MR2 kit, the '93 model and the instructions call for most of the chassis to be painted in silver. Does this sound right? If not, what colur should it be? I'm not going for a super detailed car, just OOB but silver just sounds wrong to me.

Cheers

Re: Fujimi MR2

It does seem that black would be a better colour really. I used to have an MR2, the '90 shape though. I don't remember the chassis being silver.

Re: Fujimi MR2

It was mostly body color...

but indeed sometimes there was black coat of anti-rust protection.

Re: Fujimi MR2

Cool
Thanks for that. I'm doing mine in yellow so I guess it'll be flat yellow with a heavy drybrush of black maybe? I'm fairly new to modeling and so am working up my skills. At least from that I can see the engine block is indeed silver.

Cheers

Re: Fujimi MR2

Drybrushing brown/gray could be better than black since dust is rather greyish.

As for engine - on the photos it is audi 4,2 v8 swap into mr2 body

Re: Fujimi MR2

Thanks Nomad
Ummm, MidMazar, this thread has no pics as its not a WIP, it was a fact finding thread. My apologies if it was in the wrong place. I will get some pics in a WIP thread soon though.
