95 tc has no spark

Hey guys I have a 95 tc sign. series and having a problem. a month back the car wouldnt start and couldnt get fuel at rail, replaced fuel pump but noitced a mouse at the wires going to my passanger coil pack. I Now have fuel at the rail and replaced the wires by snipping new ones and splicing together and replace coil pack because the connector was coming loose. Now when i try to start it it still wont turn over and i have no spark coming from either coil pack. I am totally lost and confused. I have checked pretty much every wire im sure and just have no ideas left. Thanks for any help !!!

Re: 95 tc has no spark

you need to check the wires from the coil pack on back. Maybe the mouse chewed them as well..

Re: 95 tc has no spark

There is an ignition module on the 95 which could explain the no spark. If the engine will not turn over how do you know if it's not sparking? I'm confused now. If the engine won't turn over that could be starter or the starter solenoid.

Re: 95 tc has no spark

The car cranks but wont turn over. I pulled a wire of a plug from each coil pack and used a brand new bosch plug and watched as someone tried to start the car and the plug never sparked. where would the ignition module be?? I have checked as much wires as can. the coil pack wires go under the intake and are covered by black plastic and all the main harnesses are fine and everything else appears to be working ok

Re: 95 tc has no spark

if its a 95, the module is on the drivers fender, right by the fuel pump, a/c realy etc2 5.5 mm bolts hold it in place.. They are expensive from the dealership. I have one that came off a car with 32k on it if you need one.

Re: 95 tc has no spark

I dont know if there is a way to test it or not. But like I said. I do have one that has only 32k on it. Send me a PM with your email. That way I can give you my number.

Re: 95 tc has no spark

Did you ground the bosch plug to check for a spark? Did you remove from one of the spark plugs to check to see if it was washed out with fuel? The spark plug will not fire if it is saturated with fuel. On the front of the engine there are cam sensors, you can check the cam sensors with a digital ohm meter for resistants. Disconnect the battery to reset the computer it may have locked out because of the shorted wires.

Re: 95 tc has no spark

well I replaced the iginition module and try to reset the computer by leaving the negative off over night. Still just cranks but no start. The plugs are not saturated from flooding it is normally couple days in between attempts to start the car. We ground the plug and still no spark, im just out of ideas. We thought maybe the backfeed fried the iginition module but guess not, everything else works it looks like but just no spark. Any ideas

Re: 95 tc has no spark

Maybe the computer? Its on the drivers side under the hood packed in the corner. Can you see if the wires are frayed and if possible, can you take it out and apart to see if there is burnt marks?

Re: 95 tc has no spark

Did you check all 8 plug wires for spark? It could be a coil pack if you are getting sparks on 4 cylinders. I doubt both packs would be bad. I also suppose the crank trigger sensor could be bad. It's down by the ac compressor. You have to un bolt the compressor from the engine to remove that sensor.

Re: 95 tc has no spark

The OBDII connector on your TC has a fuse!
You might need to reseat some connectors going to the PCU.
Advance Auto can Test your ignition module.

Focus on troubleshooting the L-bank cylinder 1, and R-bank cylinder 5.

I want to see some fire on both banks, this is a quick simple test, and will show us, that both Coil packs, Cam sensors, Crank sensor, and ignition module are working.

LOL- Maybe you can get a Cat for that mouse!

A short going to the L-bank coil pack could blow a fuse, or damaged the ignition module.

Re: 95 tc has no spark

Hello, no it doesn not mean that. For some reason hte connector port is not responding to the PCM. Even thought hes and Idiot, Macgiver does have a point about the fuse for the connector. I would find the fuse and go from there.
