simple timing ? I hope.
On this 92 1.0 when I jumper the plug as it says to do, the marks go to 6btc and when I unplug the wire it will go to 12 or 13btc. Is this the way it should work?

Re: simple timing ? I hope.
yes, that's right, but you can do better...with the jumper plugged in (where you are seeing 6BTDC), loosen the distributor & turn it slightly untill you are seeing 8-10 deg. BTDC. (9 was perfect for me)...runs much better & MPG should go up 2 or 3...good luck.

Re: simple timing ? I hope.
Yes, leave the air cleaner on, but disconnect the cold air inlet...I just pulled the hose off of the air cleaner housing. If you want to pick up a few MORE MPG, get some hose & run it from your air cleaner inlet to as close as you can get it to your exhaust manifold....you should be breathing nice, warm air all year long. Just listen for pinging under load if it gets real hot out (90 deg +)
