There should be two screws up under the top holding it in and one behind the caution light assembly. Then you just pry it out.

i'm trying to swap my cluster, don't think the caution light assembly has anything to do with the plastic around the cluster. i know about the two screws on top but there is something inside holding the plastic cover, so i cant pull it out. give me another suggestion, please.

If you have a/c the you pop off the caution light button, there should be a screw behind it. It took me 2 hours before I just baught the damn book.

yes but the caution light assembly is above my cd-player, which is about 1 foot away from the cluster, i don't think that will help me take out the plastic around the cluster. keep in mind i have a 2001 civic

I have a 2001 Civic. I was having that problem about 2 days ago, there are only the 2 screws, and you have to stick somethinglike a couple of knives or something really thin on each side of the bottom (being carefule not to scratch anything, maybe use a towell) than pry back and forth until it comes out, but dont break anything, the 2 little knobs are a pain in the ass though, just out your wheel down and work it out, if you figure out how to get the rest of the dash out let me know, i am working on the airbags right now (I am keeping them, just temporarily removing them people). Hope this could help

Re: dash panel removal 2001

i couldnt find a book either.. haha.. but yeah i had to remove the panels to paint it and once you remove those 2 screws theres a bunch of clips holding it in.. once that piece comes out then you should see the screws for the cluster
