2005 tacoma hood won't pop up

hi folks ,

on my just bought 05'tacoma , the hood wont pop up when you pull the hood lever .

it will unlock , but wont pop up a inch to get your fingers in for ths safety lever ..

if you use your nails you can get it open ... its like the spring is missing ...
