A/Trans drain plug gasket

I am going to flush the transmission fluid on my 99 T4R and I wonder if I can reuse the drain plug washer. Does anyone know the Toyota's P/N for this washer in case if I have to replace it? Thank you.

Yes, you can resuse the gasket. The only way you will have to buy a new one is if you loose it.

Re: A/Trans drain plug gasket

Thanks Brian. I wasn't sure if this is crush washer or a flat type one. It looks like the previous owner has never changed the T/fluid for 98K miles so I am going to to do it in my garage this weekend. I am not trying to safe a buck on this washer, I am just running out of time to buy the new one. I have red some posts on the other websites regarding this DIY job but if you guys have some extra advise / recommendation to share with, I am listening...

trying to change transmission fluid, the drain plug normally just like taking out the oil drain plug using 14mm socket, plug does not come out, even losing it, what is the problem ?

You are too weak. Get stronger....

Re: A/Trans drain plug gasket

how strong you want to be to get a plug out, it is same principle as taking out oil drain plug. It is turning somehow there is resistance.

Re: A/Trans drain plug gasket

If it is turning, it will come out unless the threads are stripped. If the threads are stripped, you will have to pull the pan and figure out what needs to be done to fix it.

Pull the pan and seal the drain plug inside and outside, not much choice. Should be good for another 60k miles.

Replacing the pan is an option. Salvage yards should have one.

Dont even bother "sealing" the faulty drain plug and components. you will be faced with the SAME problem again when you need to drain the fluid.
As Brian said, do it right, pick one up cheap at the auto recyclers.
