Changing transmision pcs-need expert advice
Does anyone know if its possible to change the pcs without removing the axle,I have a 2001 century and I can see most of the nuts just fine on the side cover.I was wondering if I can remove enough of the nuts to slide the cover out a little and still be able to access the pcs.It looks like as long as I remove air intake ,I can access most of them with ease.I just dont want to tear it half apart and still have to remove axle.I have never done a axle removal,I am just a basic mechanic.I am planning to ad a shift kit as I read here it solves the pcs issue most of the time. But if it doesnt then Im gonna have to swap the pcs.Oh and yes Im having the hard upshifts and whining when trans is warm.I added some seafoam and will run for a couple weks and do the shift kit filter changeout. Also is it ok to mix the new dexron VI with the remaing fluid that is in the trans after a pan drop?

Re: Changing transmision pcs-need expert advice
Best to remove the axle shaft. To start remove the hub/bearing assembly. You can mix Dex VI and Dex III.
And welcome to AF.
