Rookie System Installer

okay so i bought a nice 1700watt lightning audio system and am in the process of installing it. it all seems very straight forward and installation isnt exactly what my question is regarding. i have a few small ones. so

Number 1: my system has two amps,a B4.250.2 and a B4.320.4 now the 320 has 4 places to connect speaker wires fronts LR and rears LR and the 250 has 1 Left and Right. my car has 6 speakers. (4) 6.5" and (2) 4". should i wire the 6.5" speakers to the 320 and the 4" speakers to the 250. that makes sense but im not sure if thats the way it should be done.

Number 2: the 6.5" speakers in my front doors are still stock and i dont have replacements for them at the moment. im looking at some online and found a good deal on a set of 3-way speakers. but the ones im installing now in the back are 2-way. will this cause a problem or is it fine to install different speakers in the same system?

Thanks,
Thomas

Re: Rookie System Installer

everything sounds like it will be ok, but it may be difficult to tune with all those speakers

in reference to what?

If you have a 4 channel amplifier and a 2 channel amp.

Hook 4 speakers up to one,

hook 2 speakers up to another.

Start tuning them by using low volume on the amps with 50% on the head unit to start with.

Then turn up the amps independently until you reach equilibrium.

adjust your bass boost accordingly.

I still do not understand your question in reference to

*using two way speakers with 3 way speakers*

3 way speakers are, bass, mids, highs,
2 way speakers are, either, mids, highs or bass, highs

Re: Rookie System Installer

a coaxial just has one tweeter, a triax (3-way) has two. It won't effect the sound much as far as balance, maybe the 3-way will be a little brighter

Re: Rookie System Installer

Do you have a SUV or something? Thats a lot of speakers lol. If you tune everything the right way, you really shouldnt be able to tell. Its not a problem at all. Good Luck!

so long as the Ohm's are the same it wont cause ANY problems whatsoever.

the 3way systems are basically 2 way speakers with a Tweeter mounted on top.

As long as the OHM load is identical to the 2way speakers you'll be just cherry
