how often should the timing chain be changed? any specific guideline?

The answer for those engines is pretty much never. They are intended to be maintenance-free and last the life of the engine/vehicle. Only replace it if it is known to be bad/worn and you plan on driving the vehicle for a long time or if you already have the engine removed for other repairs and there is a fair amount of mileage (i.e. >150K miles) on it. It doesn't need to be replaced for the purpose of preventative maintenance like older engines.
