Need some HElp looking for diagrams!!

hello evertone i need help...im looking for a vacuum diagram for a 1979 cutlass cruiser...i've been doing searches on google for weeks and i cant find anything...well the only thing i found was on the autozone website but i couldnt really understand it

i rebuilt the 305 it had and it only runs for a couple seconds then it shuts off...i thought maybe i didnt do the timing right but it would back fire if it was wrong...maybe i have to adjust something on the carb? any help would be great thanks in advance

I don't think a vacuum diagram is your answer here if you had a leak from a hose that large to cause your problem you would hear it, may things can cause this, most likely idle adjustment and timing for starters. Seems unusual to be able to rebuild this engine then fail it getting it running.

thanks for the reply...i thought if the timing was wrong it wouldnt start at all and it does start...and if it was the timing wouldnt it backfire? it doesnt back fire on me....i still need a vacuum diagram to get all the hoses in the right place...i do hear a vacuum leak and i dont know where its comming from thats why i need a vacuum diagram so i can make sure everything is in the right place...

You will need a service manual or an under hood diagram for this.

i have a haynes manual i bought at autozone and it was almost $30 and it didnt have a vacuum diagram in it and they said i couldnt return it cause i opened it...there was an under the hood vacuum diagram on the fan shroud but since its been sitting for 10 years it faded...
