2003 Silverado "memory" seats

I have a 2003 Silverado 1500HD with the power seats. The seats have the memory option for driver #1, #2 and the exit position. I bought the truck used nearly two years ago, and this is an option that I have never been able to get to work.

As long as I use key FOB #1 I have no problems. When I use key FOB #2, the seat adjusts to another position. I have programmed the seat for position #1 and position #2 several times. However, any time I use key FOB #2, it goes to some other position (not one I programmed).

I have even programmed seat position #2 to the same position as #1 and that did not work either, it goes back to the old position. (which just happens to be as far forward as the seat can go, not good when you accidently hit the button on the door as you drive down the road.)

Any ideas on this? This would be a great option if I could get it to work.

Thanks!

Re: 2003 Silverado "memory" seats

OK new information.

I believe that the seat memory function was turned off this whole time.

I would have thought that would turn off the function altogether. But maybe not. I'll have to see, now that I've turned the function on, if it will work correctly.

Does anyone know if the function is turned off if it should be disabled completely?
