99 Suburban won't start
Suburban running fine, turned it off then it would crank but not start. This happened a few weeks ago then again today. A few weeks ago it started the started the next day after sitting all night. Fuel pressure fine. Mechanic thinks it could be ignition coil or module. Any other ideas?

Re: 99 Suburban won't start
I think you are right regarding fuel issues. I gave up and took it too the mechanic so I should know Monday. Not a cheap fix if it is the fuel pump. Thanks for your help.

Got a delphi unit from these guys for my blazer... less than half price from the dealer. Cost less to install than the dealer price for the pump. https://www.partshighway.com/search....2&subcatid=161

Re: 99 Suburban won't start
If it has the 5.7 or 7.4, how long ago was the distributor cap and rotor changed?

Re: 99 Suburban won't start
I use aerosol starting fluid to determine whether an issue like this is fuel or ignition related. If it starts, even for just a few seconds, after spraying in some starting fluid, then it's a fuel-related problem.
I just had my '94 Sub fuel pump changed a few months ago ($250), went out at 190K miles. |
