05 Steering wheel shake

I have an 05 4cyl 2wd vue that under braking shakes the CRAP out of the steering wheel. Doesnt do it all of the time, usually when coasting down hill and applying the brakes to maintain speed. Under normal braking conditions there is no unusuall feeling in the car what so ever. It's the wifes car and I cant get it to do it.....I am going after the pads and rotors first. Any other ideas for diagnoses would be great

Re: 05 Steering wheel shake

Its 100% the rotors, change the front rotors and the shake will go away

Re: 05 Steering wheel shake

changed rotors and pads...wife says completly different truck. no shake as of yet. When inspecting rotors and pads everything looked to be normal, pads all worn evenly and rotors showed no signs of chaffing or warpage. If shes happy I am happy

a lot of the time you can not see warpage on the rotars, you would have to use a dial indicator to tell if they were.
