Talking **Completed JDM EG, JDM vs RICE?: many, I mean MANY pix!

Hey everyone!
It has been a while since I’ve posted, that’s because I’ve been working on this.
In my efforts to prove to everyone that a tuned model car doesn’t necessarily mean wild body kits and spoilers with oversized wheels, I have decided to pursue this project. My goal was to create the most detailed JDM tuned car as possible. What you see here is my efforts in creating a true JDM tuner car, a 1993 Honda Civic Eti (EG). My vision is to do everything that can be done to it, to draw a clear line between what the controversial term “Rice” means, and what a truly JDM tuned car is. A JDM car usually focuses on performance tuning and comprises of Japan market only parts such as Spoon and Mugen, additionally, Japanese tuners also like to take parts from brothering cars and retrofit them onto their cars (you’ll see what I mean later on). With that said, here is my vision taken form as the true JDM EG: :jumpie:

(i hope to own a very similar 1:1 car soon):jumpie:

Mods: (read clearfully)

Suspension/wheels:
-lowered 3inches to scale with Fujimi Integra Type R suspension
-Brembo front brakes and cross drilled rotors
-Nissan Skyline R32 GTR rear disc brakes and cross drilled rotors
-16inch Impul NS-01R wheels painted semi-gloss black with custom made low profile tires from Revell ITR.

Interior:
-Flat black with grey accents
-Rear seat removed, rear luggage area cut out to show spare tire area, gas tank top revealed, color matched to body color.
-Nissan Skyline GTR Hashiriya Racing Drivers Seat
-stock passenger seat
-Honda S2000 D Steering Wheel
-Nissan 350Z Pedals

Exterior:
-Tamiya Light GunMetal paint with clear coat
-JDM style Orange signal lights and side markers, and rear light clusters
-SPOON side mirrors
-semi-gloss black skirts + trim
-Japanese licence plates from Fujimi Rsx ITR (removable)
-Apexi N1 style slant exhaust custom made.
-Japanese parking/window registration things on front windshield.

Here we go:
The Inspiration:

Test fitting wheels:

Painted with wheels

Painted more, and detailed, notice the Spoon mirrors

Rear seat removed, spare tire section cut out, gas tank detailed

Nissan 350Z pedals

interior, S2000 Steering wheel, stock and racing seats

Nissan Skyline GTR Brakes

Completed dash board:

Completed interior

Completed car:

compared to the real thing:

Brembo Front Brakes and Cross drilled rotors:

Nissan Skyline GTR Rear Brakes and Cross drilled rotors:

Spoon Mirrors

compared to the real thing:

Undercarrage

Well there it is! Hope you guys like it, I sure enjoyed building this car.
Feedback pleaaaase!

Now the ever so controversial question…Is this JDM or rice? :argue:

Nice it is, rice it is not.

JDM: Almost everything you listed

Rice: Nissan skyline brakes on a civic

I love it though, that exaust is awesome! I like the rims but I, personally prefer them gold, but it's your choice. I havea question, was the center of the rim left gold intentionally?

That dash is VERY IMPRESSIVE.

You have nice style my friend, hope to see your next car :flash:

Hey, Porkchop!

Nice job, really cool, and the little details like the license disks, and detailing on the dash are really cool. Here's an idea for the next kit:

You really went to town on this kit, and did of a lot of detail, but with putting drilled disks, and drilled pedals looks real cool - but why not get a real tiny pin-vice drill, and actually DRILL the holes out? Or maybe even just use a black paint to pick out the details. It's time-consuming to drill them out, but the effect is truly awesome.

The fart-can exhaust looks real scary, and I thought it would never work, but surprisingly you show us a picture of a true car with it. Scary, but true!

Oh - and your real number plate is a little skew - small detail, so not an issue... ;-)

May look like I'm complaining a little, but it's truly a great looking job you've done there. Nice paint-job, and overall really cool.

Maybe take the pics a little further away and crop them a bit more, as the camera is struggling to focus so close - if you crop, you'll end up with pretty much the same picture.

Keep up the good work! Nice job, keen to see what you get up to next...

If it really helps the car stop better then it isn't really rice :o not starting THAT war again...some JDM cars use Ferrari F50 brakes, does that make them rice? *shrug*

excellent and clean build up now dust it off and seal it inside a cabinet or something

the car looks really good man, you have done very well in your quest. only i can suggest is maybe a blackwash for the brakes (to get some black in the holes) and the paint surface on your exhaust looks odd...kinda wrinkly. other then that, stand up job.
