Rear Drum Brake
I need to figure this out in a hurry so if anyone can throw any ideas my way I'd appreciate it.
I have a '97 Breeze and the rear passenger side drum is giving me fits. This will make the second time I have replaced the drum and brakes due to constant grinding. I've done many different brake repair jobs and I've never come across something like this. I know that I have everything put together correctly, new springs all where they should go, new drum, new brakes, but for some reason after I bleed the line the freakin pads are stuck to the drum and it will only rotate after applying considerable pressure. I'm sure that I have the adjuster slid to the shortest distance but the drum doesn't even want to slide on there. After I open the bleed valve and push the brakes together it will go on, then I can't move the wheel anymore after I bleed the line? What is going on here? |

Re: Rear Drum Brake
are sure the brake shoe is not hanging up on a shoe pad on the backing plate that may have a line running thru it , my daughter brake shoes got caughte in the line cause it would not let the shoe return to normal resting place i removed the backing plate welded it and ground it down flat again, her brakes work fine
this is a common problem i found out as iwent to ythe junk yard to get a backing plate and the shoe pad had the same line running thru it |
