Homelink on 2003 towncar

I have the 1st button on the Homelink go all the way in. I have been told by a Lincoln dealer that it is not possible to replace the buttons. They stated that the whole console would have to be replaced at a cost of $1600. I know this has to be just a sales pitch. Any idea what part I need to order & how to remove the console? Thanks.

to remove the console just try to get a grip of the console and pull down really hard. Its only clips holding them in , dont worry its really tight so just pull down really hard on it.
