ABS Light + Brake (but not your normal problem...)

Searched and didn't see this one here, so here's my problem...

I'm getting an intermittent ABS/BRAKE light indication. Basically, the truck starts, light go through the powerup checks, and the vehicle runs normally. However, if I run across a rumble strip, or brake hard, or anything else that would normally activate the ABS, I get the lights.

Turn the truck off. Restart and the lights go through the normal powerup (BIT checks?) and we're back to normal. Until I hit the next bump while braking, etc...

Wondering if it's the big fuse, but I'd think it'd never complete it's BIT check if that fuse was bad. Unless it's like a relay and gets excitation power from somewhere else too.

Any opinions?

This could be a bad connection at one of the sensors, or a bad sensor, a scan with an abs scanner would pick up a code or could be driven hooked up while someone looks a sensor inputs when the problem occurs.

ABS and brake lights come on ? then this is what it could be..

this is very possibly the abs unit under the driver seat..this can be repaired for around 150.00 rather than much more , if the whole unit is replaced..the upper portion can be removed and then sent to the repair center for servicing..the brake lines are not removed..

look it up on the web and they also give troubleshooting instructions..

if at very low speeds the abs [brake pulses] comes on with poor braking then you have a front sensor problem,,,,sensors are being forced out by rust on the mounting hole of the front wheel bearing assembly..under the rotor..
