"I know the obvious"

It's always best to start with the obvious. The reason certain diagnoses are the most common is because they turn out to be the most common causes.

What do you think the obvious causes might be? (Saves me from 'restating' the obvious)

Re: delay when turn key

My thought is loose &/or corroded connection(s), hot &/or ground side, &/or a starter solenoid ready for a gold watch & retirement party. Problems #1 accelerates problem #2. All Assuming a healthy battery to begin with!
