Driver side window help!!!
My driver side window switch acted up a few weeks ago (it would go down fine but would not go up) then it righted itself and no problems till yesterday. It will NOT go back up. I am sure it is the switch, but I am hoping someone has a diagram or a trick so that I can get the window up until the switch comes in.
its a 1999 GTP 4 door OK more facts and questions, the window will still roll down fine, but will not roll back up. I guess the question is....I thought it was the switch but after reading about the regulators I am not so sure. How would I go about testing this? I do have 12 volts coming to one of the wires.

Re: Driver side window help!!!
With the door panel off you could apply apply 12 volts and a ground directly to the window motor at the electrical connector contacts keeping mind of polarity to get it up or down. You issue sounds like the switch assembly.

Re: Driver side window help!!!
Or unplug the window switch apply power and ground to the brown and dark blue wires. I think up is power to dark blue and ground to brown.
And easy way to check the switch with a test light. Back probe the dark blue wire. With the switch in the up position there should only be power on the dark blue wire. If there is power on the brown wire the switch is not grounding the window motor. If there is no power on the dark blue wire the switch is not providing power top the window motor. Vice versa for the down position.

Re: Driver side window help!!!
OK, When plugged in to the switch, I did a light test and the dark blue and yellow both had power. I put ground to the brown and got nothing. I unplugged the harness and jumped 12V (yellow, which was the only hot wire I had) to the dark blue and the brown while giving ground to the other and again....nothing. Yet if I plug in the harness and hit down the window will go down......just not back up again. Not sure what is going on.
The harness for the front windows have 2 dark blues, black, brown, and a yellow.
