My XJ makes this , for lack of a better term, whistling sound when I let off the accelerator. This started after my engine overheated a while back. the only other issue i have is my oil pressure drops out at idle once the vehicle has warmed up. I have replaced the whole cooling system hoses and water pump, serpentine belt and the sound is still there. If anyone might have some insight on this it would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: 2001 XJ weird sound
Vacuum hose? It could have been damaged in the overheat.
Has the oil pressure problem started since the overheat, or have you had it awhile?

Re: 2001 XJ weird sound
Are you losing any coolant or oil? In an overheat sometimes the head gasket goes.
Also, check the exhaust for a leak. How are the vacuum hoses looking?
