92 Saturn SC2 Water Vanishing

Just recently my vehicle started to tear through water/coolant. I will fill it up hop onto the highway and within 5 minutes the low fluids light is on, and when I check it is in fact quite low. It doesn't appear that running the ac made a difference either way. Though I had been running the ac while driving through the city because it kept the engine cooler, with the fan coming on. I am an absolute noob to car repair, but at this point I don't know what to do. I was unable to notice any obvious leak once I filled it up with water (though it would seem it I am just dumping the water on the ground as fast as it's gone). Thanks!

Fill it up, start it up, let it idle, watch for leaks.

If its leaking that fast you should be able to see it dripping somewhere.

I let it idle for about 8 minutes after filling it up. There was some minor dripping going on directly below the middle console of the driver and passenger seats. However the dripping didn't seem to match what could be emptying it so quickly, and the water was where I topped it off at after the test. The ac was run for about 4 minutes of the 8 minutes.

In case it may matter, I generally stay in the range of 70-75 miles and hour on the highway.

I assume there is probably some kind of sealer I can use? Again it doesn't seem like the minute drops would have drained it as quickly as it did, I got onto the highway and bam check fluid light was on, I live about a minute and a half from the highway, I had done no previous driving the engine had been sitting cold all night.

The temperature was also in an acceptable range, between the first bold white bar and the second, never went over that.

The dripping with the a/c on is normal. Its the moister that condenses onto the evap core. There is a drain through the firewall that allows the accumulated water to drain out of the air box.

It might be a good idea to have the cooling system pressure checked.

Re: 92 Saturn SC2 Water Vanishing

You have a leak in your coolant system. Its leaking antifreeze and you need to find out where. Do a leak down test in the cylinders, do a pressure test on the coolant system.

Miles on the car??

Normal operating temps for your car is 1/2 read on the gauge
